Leadership Opportunity in Workforce Strategy

The Assistant Commissioner plays a key role in shaping the organization's workforce strategy, driving change and promoting a values-based culture.

This position is responsible for leading operational and advisory services related to the workforce, including workforce planning, talent acquisition strategies, performance management systems, union engagement, and HR system management.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering strategic workforce initiatives to drive business outcomes.
  • Creating evidence-based operational and long-term plans to support organizational goals.
  • Providing leadership and direction to ensure effective strategy development and governance.
  • Reviewing and implementing systems and processes to enhance people management practices.
  • Designing and embedding an employee value proposition to attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and mitigating people-related risks.
  • Developing interactive reporting tools and producing HR metrics reports to inform business decisions.
  • Leading the development of robust policies and systems to support business operations.
  • Delivering transformational change programs, including digital transformation and HRIS implementation to drive business excellence.
  • Overseeing talent acquisition and employee relations matters to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Providing expert advice to senior leaders on workforce and employee relations matters to inform strategic decision-making.
