Senior Commercial Counsel

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert guidance on commercial matters, supporting our business strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Provide timely, business-focused legal advice on a range of commercial matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, from drafting through to execution and ongoing management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver commercially sound and legally compliant agreements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies and frameworks.
  • Provide legal leadership in managing employee and employment law-related matters.
  • Mentor and support the development of the paralegal to enhance legal practice skills and business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal processes, templates, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of pharmaceutical law, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience providing commercial legal advice and managing legal risks in complex environments.
  • Skilled in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex legal concepts clearly to varied stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound commercial judgements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to influence, motivate, and develop legal team members.
  • SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE IN A LEGAL OR REGULATORY ROLE WITHIN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
