Job Title: Technical Specifications Specialist

Job Summary:

Sika Australia is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specifications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our commercial development team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic plans for targeting key companies and projects in each design area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Strategic Plans: Create and implement strategic plans to target key companies and projects in each design area.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support and specifications to key specifiers, ensuring that our products meet their needs and expectations.
  • Secure High-Value Projects: Actively seek and secure high-value specification projects, working closely with our sales teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Deliver Professional Presentations: Deliver professional presentations on Sika products and solutions to key consultants, showcasing our expertise and capabilities.
  • Manage Product Sample Kits: Maintain a product sample kit for use in meetings, ensuring that our products are always on display and easily accessible.
  • Promote Cross-Selling Opportunities: Promote cross-selling opportunities to specifiers, identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
  • Provide Technical Solutions: Provide technical solutions based on Sika product combinations, ensuring that our products meet the needs of our customers.
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams: Collaborate with sales teams and attend regular meetings to ensure that our commercial development efforts are aligned with our sales strategies.
  • Manage Project Specifications: Manage and update project specifications in our CRM system, ensuring that our data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Liaise with Sales Teams: Liaise with sales teams to support the sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain Customer Databases: Maintain a comprehensive customer database, ensuring that our customer information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Attend Industry Events: Attend industry events and conferences, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments.
  • Achieve KPIs: Achieve set KPIs related to presentations, project progress, and sales potential, ensuring that our commercial development efforts are driving business growth.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience in technical specifications, preferably in the building and construction industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the building and construction industry, including its trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Sales Experience: Proven track record of achieving sales targets, with a strong understanding of sales and commercial acumen.
  • Teamwork and Leadership: Strong teamwork and people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Relationship-Building: Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-focused and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Technical and Administrative Skills: Strong technical and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Presentation and Facilitation Skills: Effective presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Account Management: Experience in account management, with a strong understanding of customer relationships and business development.
