About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Allied Health Professional to join our team as a Speech Therapy Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative organization that is committed to delivering high-quality early intervention services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to a team of allied health professionals, including speech pathologists and occupational therapists.
  • Develop and implement high-quality early intervention programs that are tailored to the needs of individual children and families.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated support for children and families.
  • Provide clinical mentoring and supervision to staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality services.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in early intervention.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in allied health with a paediatric caseload.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to use this knowledge to coach and upskill families in an individualized way.
  • In-depth knowledge of 0-9 year old developmental milestones and the impact of disability and developmental delay on children and families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary, key worker framework to ensure holistic, quality early interventions for families.
  • Developed understanding of best practice guidelines and principles in early childhood intervention.
  • Experience working alongside families to determine the supports and connections they require to achieve their child's individualized goals.
  • Experience providing support and therapy to families using a strengths-based, coaching approach that values the child's natural environments.
  • A desire to drive and improve service delivery to best impact the journey of both families and staff.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical mentoring and support to staff.
  • Experience working with the NDIS scheme is desirable.
