General Surgery Fellowship Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled General Surgery Fellow to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality surgical services.

The successful candidate will have completed their MBBS degree and FRACS 2nd part examination or equivalent, and be eligible for registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner. They will possess excellent initiative and self-direction skills, with access to regular theatre time with both elective and emergency lists, and outpatient clinics.

The Fellow will be supported by an experienced team of 16 General Surgeons and have the opportunity to participate in the on-call roster with a consultant as backup. Our organization is committed to fostering an environment of continued learning and skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume a supervised and supported general surgery consultant role
  • Transition recently qualified surgeons to independent practice as a general surgeon
  • Deliver surgical services to public patients at Frankston Hospital and Frankston Private Hospital
  • Participate in the on-call roster with a consultant as backup

Requirements:

  • MBBS degree (or equivalent)
  • Successful completion of FRACS 2nd part examination (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
