Job Title: Healthcare Liaison Officer

At Healthcare Australia, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Liaison Officer to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our clients receive timely and appropriate medical care through efficient referral processes and liaison activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary point of contact between our healthcare services and external healthcare subcontractors.
  • Manage and coordinate all healthcare referrals for our clients, ensuring timely and appropriate access to necessary medical, mental health, and specialist services.
  • Schedule and coordinate healthcare appointments for clients, minimizing disruption to their routine and maximizing efficiency for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all referrals, subcontractor communications, and appointment outcomes.
  • Conduct regular audits of referral processes and subcontractor services to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to management and other stakeholders on referral activities and subcontractor performance.
  • Provide training and support to detention service staff on referral processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, or a related field (preferred not essential).
  • Experience in healthcare coordination, referral management, or healthcare administration.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and processes, particularly in relation to refugee or detainee healthcare.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications (e.g., electronic health records, Microsoft Office suite).
