
Culturally Safe Cancer Care Specialist

As a Cancer Care Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Cancer Care Coordinator to design and deliver a Model of Care toolkit that is culturally safe, practical, and responsive to community needs.
The Model of Care toolkit aims to improve integration of culturally safe cancer care services. It requires strong collaboration with internal teams, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to identify gaps and co-design solutions.
This position offers a unique opportunity to strengthen partnerships and contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of cancer care pathways for Aboriginal patients and families.
Responsibilities- Support the Cancer Care Coordinator in designing and implementing the Model of Care toolkit.
- Undertake project planning, coordination, and reporting to support service development.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to identify gaps and co-design solutions.
- Strengthen partnerships to improve integration of culturally safe cancer care services.
- Contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement of cancer care pathways for Aboriginal patients and families.
- A cultural connection to Tamworth and the surrounding Aboriginal community.
- Knowledge of Aboriginal health services and the barriers Aboriginal people may face when accessing care.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting project coordination, health program planning, or service development.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in health, social science, or community service.
