Aboriginal Health Project Officer – Cultural Care Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to support the design and delivery of a culturally safe model of care toolkit for Aboriginal cancer patients. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cancer Care Coordinator to identify gaps in current services and develop practical solutions.
Main responsibilities:- Collaborate with internal teams, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to co-design the Model of Care toolkit.
- Contribute to project planning, coordination, and reporting to drive service development forward.
- Strengthen partnerships to improve integration of culturally sensitive cancer care services.
- Evaluate and improve cancer care pathways for Aboriginal patients and families.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong cultural connection to Tamworth and the surrounding Aboriginal community.
- Knowledge of Aboriginal health services and the barriers faced by Aboriginal people when accessing care.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting project coordination, health program planning, or service development.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in health, social science, or community service.
