Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join our team. As an Environment Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in driving operational compliance with environmental regulations, guidelines, and license conditions.

This is a six-month secondment opportunity that will challenge your skills and expertise in environmental risk management, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice on environmental risks and control options;
  • Driving programs to meet EPA License conditions and associated compliance notice resolution;
  • Initiating and leading environmental investigations and programs, including during incidents;
  • Autonomously managing projects and external contractors;
  • Independently identifying priorities and solutions to complex strategic and technical issues;
  • Working with stakeholders to improve environmental outcomes relating to wastewater treatment, recycled water, and network spills/incidents;
  • Communicating the impacts of regulation, guideline, and policy changes;
  • Providing high-quality updates and reports as required;
  • Overseeing incidents relating to recycled water in a 24/7 operational context;
  • Liaising with the EPA on environmental operational matters;

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience reviewing, managing, and implementing environmental programs and investigations;
  • A track record of leading or supporting compliance and/or corporate environmental reporting;
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Proven project management skills and negotiation skills;
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction;
