Description

We are seeking a skilled environmental specialist to join our team. As an environmental specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the organization's environmental performance is aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify, interpret, and implement statutory obligations for the environment, health and safety program. This includes designing and implementing health and safety compliance tools, conducting risk assessments, and managing system reviews.

You will also act as a primary site interface with regulatory agencies, lead incident investigations, and provide corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. Additionally, you will provide input to new business opportunities and process change projects to ensure compliance and inherently safe outcomes.

In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to undertake a broad range of operations activities to support the broader environment health and safety team.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in environment, health & safety or a related discipline;
  • An in-depth understanding of Victorian Environmental and Health & Safety legislation and regulations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards and certification process;
  • A proactive, problem-solving, energetic, team-focused approach;
  • Experience understanding EHS requirements for on-site contractors and service providers and developing EHS management systems to ensure PCBU due diligence during contractor engagement;
  • Occupational Hygiene fieldwork experience, Crane Safety Management or High-Risk Construction experience highly desirable.
