Environmental Compliance Specialist

Our organization is seeking a skilled Environmental Compliance Specialist to play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of environmental and regulatory programs across various sectors. As part of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing environmental and regulatory matters, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning aspects.
This position requires a strong background in natural or environmental sciences, with experience in related fields such as environmental management, social sciences, or engineering. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Develop and implement ESHIA (Environmental, Social, Health Impact Assessment) and EMP (Environmental Management Plan) documents in consultation with consultants and project teams
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards by implementing effective environmental management systems
- Collaborate with the SHE Manager to develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of external project financing, knowledge of specific country regulations, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities include leading ESHIA and EMP development, implementing regulatory compliance and environmental management plans, supporting the SHE manager on E&R activities, and securing and tracking project permits and approvals.
As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be based in Melbourne and work closely with the project team to ensure the successful delivery of environmental and regulatory programs.
