About the Role

The Senior Legal Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing our Professional Support Unit, ensuring timely resolution of calls to the PSU hotlines and emails. You will also oversee the staff of the Unit, including ongoing performance appraisals, and assist in the development of continuing education products and services.

  • Manage the efficient use of resources and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop education and communications strategies to respond to emerging regulatory trends and issues.
  • Oversee the support provided to the Costs and Ethics Committees by the Unit.
  • Assist practitioners with regulatory, ethical and costs issues, including answering email and telephone enquiries.
About You

We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance. You should have experience in managing teams and developing educational resources, as well as a proven track record in providing guidance to professionals on regulatory and policy issues.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and current practising certificate.
  • Practice experience and a sound knowledge in regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering legislation or policy principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective, clear and concise communication.
  • Able to create a suite of educational resources, including articles, checklists, alerts, presentations and workshops.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive team environment.
