Learning and Development Officer

We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Officer to join our team in Brisbane CBD, QLD. The position is a 12-month casual assignment with the possibility of extension.

  • About the Role: The successful candidate will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility.

The position involves providing policy advice within an area of specialisation, based on policies and legislation. The APS5 level Learning and Development Officer will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of comprehensive capability and learning programs.

  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Leading and participating in capability and learning projects and contributing to the achievement of business outcomes.
    • Conducting organisational, functional and individual needs analysis activities, identifying skills and knowledge required for performing identified jobs and roles.
    • Designing new courses and course improvements to existing learning curriculum, ensuring consistent curriculum offerings across technical, vocational and on-the-job offerings.
    • Designing and building interactive learning elements and engaging activities.
    • Contributing to the development of competency frameworks and developing facilitated and digital learning for blended programs.
    • Evaluating and analysing the effectiveness of capability and learning activities, ensuring quality outcomes are delivered.
    • Maintaining knowledge of current capability and learning issues and innovations in learning, technology.

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in learning and development.
  • Experience in designing learning material.
  • Previous experience working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience within Health Sector and/or working with people with disability.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen.
