Job Description

This position is responsible for providing high-level policy advice and leading strategic allied health workforce projects and initiatives aligned to the Department of Health Strategic Priorities.

The role involves working closely with senior leaders and other stakeholders to coordinate the timely preparation and provision of high-quality briefings and reports regarding allied health professional policy, workforce, legislative, regulatory, and clinical governance issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Briefing and Report Preparation: Coordinate the preparation and provision of high-quality briefings and reports for senior leaders regarding allied health professional policy, workforce, legislative, regulatory, and clinical governance issues.
  • Project Support: Provide project support through administration and coordination of several concurrent project activities associated with planning, monitoring, research, collation of information, and report preparation.
  • Executive Support: Offer executive support to senior officials and general administrative support to the Allied Health Strategy and Policy team, including secretariat support for committees.
Requirements
  • Prior Experience: Experience in providing policy and executive support in a demanding environment, demonstrating effective output management and coordination skills.
  • Project Management Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of project management principles.
  • Communication Skills: Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Administrative Support: Capacity to provide secretarial and administrative support.
  • Critical Thinking: Critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
  • IT Skills: Experience using various IT systems and software, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
