Technical Director for Observing Systems

This is a key leadership position within the Observing Systems and Operations Program providing specialist advice, direction and guidance on the observing infrastructure architecture and equipment.
- Job Description:
- Manage a diverse team of specialists responsible for the development and design of engineering and technological solutions.
- Provide level three support on a range of technologies spanning from radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to dedicated observations and satellites to ships at sea.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Establish capability, strategy and methods for providing the required observations for Bureau services.
- Work closely with related teams in Infrastructure Development and National Operations of the Observing Systems and Operations Program.
- Requirements:
- Extensive experience in engineering planning and delivery.
- Advanced stakeholder management capabilities.
- A high level of management skill together with the ability to distil significant issues from complex material.
