Community Education Counsellor Role

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally knowledgeable Community Education Counsellor to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a dynamic team that values inclusivity, respect, and student achievement.

This temporary part-time position involves providing educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across multiple schools. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the involvement in education of these students and their families.

The successful applicant will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain links with out-of-school sources of information and support services. You will also possess a deep understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across multiple schools.
  • Develop and undertake support service programs designed to meet the needs of the schools and encourage the educational participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students.
  • Establish and maintain links with out-of-school sources of information and support services to assist in the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and students.
