We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Cultural Training Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to develop and deliver cultural training programs that promote cultural safety throughout the organization.
Job DescriptionThe Aboriginal Cultural Training Specialist will be responsible for managing and leading the development and delivery of our Aboriginal Cultural Training program. This involves working closely with stakeholders, including Aboriginal communities, advisory groups, and staff across the organization.
This role will take our cultural education to the next level by developing an integrated curriculum to embed cultural safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver cultural training programs that meet the needs of diverse audiences
- Establish a delivery model and a panel of external providers to meet the demand of cultural training
- Develop a comprehensive training program that includes e-learning, virtual, and in-person facilitator-led training
- Manage a reference group of staff and community members to guide the training content
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society, and understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal Victorians
- Strong knowledge of, and demonstrated experience, working with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups, including sophisticated and culturally aware stakeholder engagement
- Ability to build highly effective working relationships and collaborate across the organization as well as strong working relationships with external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Aboriginal Cultural Training, and/or related training programs
