Job Title: Aboriginal Heritage Systems Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Specialist to provide technical services in support of cultural heritage protection and management.

  • Design, develop, and maintain business systems that enable the delivery of technical advisory services related to Aboriginal cultural heritage.
  • Analyse data to contribute to the implementation of the Managing Country Together framework across the organisation.
About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide expert technical and analytical support to the Managing Country Together Directorate to identify and develop solutions around critical capacity and information gaps. Additionally, they will deliver tailored training sessions to strengthen in-house capability and improve record-keeping standards for cultural heritage data.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop Innovative Solutions: Provide strategic advice on complex issues related to Aboriginal cultural heritage legislation, governance, and policies.
  2. Technical Advisory Services: Offer technical expertise to support the development of business systems that meet organisational needs.
  3. Data Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of data to inform decision-making and contribute to the implementation of the Managing Country Together framework.
  4. Cultural Heritage Training: Deliver training sessions to staff members to enhance their understanding of cultural heritage management and improve record-keeping practices.
Requirements:
  • A strong background in Aboriginal cultural heritage protection and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aboriginal cultural heritage legislation, governance, and policies in Victoria.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive, and practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Relevant experience or specialist qualification in cultural heritage management.
