Aboriginal Cultural Training SpecialistThe role entails collaborating with regional stakeholders, leveraging negotiation skills when required, to ensure comprehensive support. This may involve cultural observation visits, mentoring the onsite cultural mentor, and providing guidance to registrars on site.
- Mentor and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registrars in their professional development.
- Lead the design and delivery of training programs focused on cultural awareness, safety, and collaboration.
- Represent the organization in stakeholder committees, forums, and meetings, actively engaging in discussions.
- Support GP Registrars' training in Aboriginal Medical Services, offering education, mentoring, and feedback during clinical visits.
Key attributes include:
- Strong personal responsibility, a deep understanding of traditional customs, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regional communities, including women's and men's business, is essential.
- The ability to engage and educate diverse audiences with sensitivity, empathy, and respect for cultural differences is crucial.
- Experience in designing and delivering culturally sensitive training programs is vital.
