Job Title: Aboriginal Conferencing Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and culturally sensitive Aboriginal Conferencing Specialist to join our team.
This role is a critical component of our organization's efforts to support the Aboriginal community, and we require someone who can deliver high-quality conferencing services with cultural awareness and expertise.
- About the Role:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for convening and facilitating Aboriginal-led case conferences with cultural sensitivity and expertise. They will build authentic relationships with Aboriginal families, respecting their unique circumstances and cultural needs.
- The specialist will collaborate with elders, community leaders, and extended family networks to develop comprehensive care plans that prioritize cultural connection and family preservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify risk factors and develop risk management plans
- Facilitate meetings and mediate outcomes with families and stakeholders
- Advocate alongside Aboriginal children and families for their interests
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience
- Significant experience working with Aboriginal communities
- A Working with Children's Check
