We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join the Justice and Community Safety Directorate ACT as a Strategic Modernisation Lead.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the modernisation of the ACT Courts and Civil and Administrative Tribunal. As a Strategic Modernisation Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the Chief Executive Officer in delivering strategic programs, providing high-level legal advice, and driving innovation and change within the Courts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic programs, practice, and procedures to support innovation and change within the Courts;
  • Provide high-level legal advice and support on policies, proposals, and significant legislation amendments;
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic programs;

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from complex legal matters to strategic initiatives that drive business outcomes. Your expertise and experience will be essential in shaping the future of the ACT Courts and Tribunal.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in laws from an Australian tertiary institution or a comparable overseas qualification;
  • Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory;
  • A minimum of five years post-qualification practice experience in law, preferably in a court environment;

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is between $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including access to professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive leave package.
