IT Service Management Lead for Defence Digital Modernisation

Leidos, a leading technology and engineering solutions provider, is seeking an experienced IT Service Management professional to lead the establishment of a mature Lifecycle Services practice in our Defence Digital Modernisation team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ITSM, strategic mindset, and excellent leadership skills to manage teams and drive operational outcomes. The role requires collaboration with Subject Matter Experts to facilitate 'as a service' delivery methodologies and align with SIAM processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage teams to achieve agreed goals and deliverables, ensuring key performance indicators are met
- Assist in coaching and developing a mature Service Management team to implement 'as a service' delivery methods
- Provide Professional Development support and drive SME capability skill uplifts
- Offer thought leadership and tactical direction on ITSM capability needs, focusing on:
- Lifecycle Services, including decommissioning
- Release and Deployment Management, including Risk Management
- Transition Planning and Support as Operations
- Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A proven track record as a team or operational leader in an enterprise environment
- Strong ability to work autonomously or with limited guidance towards defined outcomes
- Experience working with/within Operational teams to transition capabilities into service
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience with uplifting or maturing ITSM process teams
- Highly experienced and ideally qualified in Service Management frameworks (ITIL) and their practical implementation
This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold or be able to attain a minimum Defence NV-1 security clearance.
