Council Asset Systems Management Opportunity

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide high-level service delivery while managing Council's asset systems in accordance with accounting standards and fair value measurement.

The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and maintain a register of Council assets, including roads, drainage, footpaths, cycle ways, bridges, recreational facilities, aerodromes, land, water supply, and sewerage systems.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Maintenance Coordination: Use sound engineering principles to coordinate and maintain a register of Council assets, ensuring accurate and complete physical and financial information.
  • Asset Management: Coordinate, develop, and maintain Council's Asset Management Systems and associated registers, preparing asset information required by the organisation.
  • Data Collection and Recording: Collect and record accurate and complete data for Council infrastructure projects, including planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Site Surveys: Coordinate site surveys for collection of asset condition and detail information, verifying recorded data.
  • Infrastructure Information: Provide infrastructure information for the preparation of asset renewal and replacement programs.
  • Asset Plans: Use information from existing and newly acquired assets to produce and maintain a compilation of Council asset plans, undertaking recording and updating in Council's GIS and AMS.
  • Data Input and Records Management: Provide accurate and efficient data input and records management using Council data capture devices and systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated Experience: Demonstrated experience in applying and understanding accounting policies, principles, and Australian Accounting standards for asset management.
  • Financial Management: Demonstrated knowledge and experience of financial management and statutory reporting.
  • Asset Management Principles: Strong knowledge of Asset Management principles and data maintenance requirements for accurate details within an asset register.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with good analytical and data interpretation skills.
Benefits:
  • Term Contract: Term contract until 31 December 2026.
  • Full-Time Employment: Full-time employment with a 70-hour fortnight.
  • Salary: Salary range from $83,985 to $96,584 pa + 12% super.
