Asset Management Specialist

This position is responsible for providing a high level of service while delivering effective management of Council's asset systems in accordance with Accounting Standards and Fair Value Measurement.
The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and maintain a register of Council assets, including roads, drainage, footpaths, cycle ways, bridges, recreational facilities, aerodromes, land, water supply and sewerage systems. This involves using sound engineering, environmental, financial and safety principles to ensure accurate and complete physical and financial information for Council infrastructure projects.
Key Accountabilities- Coordinate, develop and maintain Council's Asset Management Systems and associated registers, preparing asset information required by the organisation in compliance with Council policies and relevant statutory requirements.
- Correlate information associated with the maintenance of Council assets, including planned and unplanned maintenance activities, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of objectives.
- Provide infrastructure information for the preparation of asset renewal and replacement programs, utilizing data from existing and newly acquired assets to produce and maintain a compilation of Council asset plans.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of objectives and maximise utilisation of resources.
- Demonstrated experience in applying and understanding accounting policies, principles and Australian Accounting standards predominantly for asset management.
- Strong knowledge of Asset Management principles and data maintenance requirements for accurate details within an asset register.
- Certificate IV in Asset Management, Engineering or equivalent or four years' experience in a related environment.
- High levels of data literacy with a demonstrated ability to perform advanced data analysis, complex fault finding/investigations and implementing performance KPIs.
This role offers a term contract until 31 December 2026, with a full-time 70-hour fortnight schedule. The salary range is from $83,985 to $96,584 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
