The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service while delivering the effective management of Council's asset systems in accordance with Accounting Standard and Fair Value Measurement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Use sound engineering, environmental, financial and safety principles to coordinate and maintain a register of Council assets, including, but not limited to, roads, drainage, footpaths, cycle ways, bridges, recreational facilities, aerodromes, land, water supply and sewerage systems.
  • Coordinate, develop and maintain Council's Asset Management Systems and associated registers and prepare asset information required by the organisation in compliance with Councils policies and relevant statutory requirements, with responsibility for the collection and recording of accurate and complete physical and financial information for Council infrastructure projects.
  • Correlate information associated with the maintenance of Council assets including planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate site surveys for collection of asset condition and detail information and verification of recorded data.
  • Provide infrastructure information for the preparation of asset renewal and replacement programs.
  • Use information from existing and newly acquired assets to produce and maintain a compilation of Council asset plans. Undertake the recording and updating of this information in Council's GIS and AMS. Produce maps for various projects as and when required.
  • Provide accurate and efficient data input and records management using a range of Council data capture devices and systems to ensure relevant reports and statistics are accessible to support effective decision making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of objectives and maximise utilisation of resources.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace for our people and the community by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans, and any other documentation required
We are looking for someone who has
  • Demonstrated experience in applying and understanding accounting policies, principles and Australian Accounting standards predominately for asset management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of financial management and statutory reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Management principals and data maintenance requirements for accurate details within an asset register.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with good analytical and data interpretation skills

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Certificate IV in Asset Management, Engineering or equivalent or four years' experience in related environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and systems.
  • Experience in infrastructure condition auditing, data collection methodologies, maintenance prioritisation, and statutory reporting.
  • High levels of data literacy with a demonstrated ability to perform advanced data analysis, complex fault finding/investigations and implementing performance KPIs
  • Ability to analyse and interpret excel effectively
  • Ideally understand ISO55001
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • General Construction Induction (WHS White Card)
About the Role

Term contract:Until 31 December 2026

Full time:70-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $83,985 to $96,584 pa + 12% super
