Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading insurance company and further develop your underwriting and business development skills in the strata space.

The role involves analysing insurance risks, determining acceptance terms for new clients and developing new business. This includes evaluating and underwriting of strata risk, management of underwriting platforms and general underwriting queries within delegated underwriting authorities.

As a Development Underwriter, you will play a critical role in ensuring service standards remain relevant and in line with customer expectations, close liaison with both the Claims and Underwriting teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining close relationships with partners understanding their values, needs, strategies.
  • Accurate and timely processing of underwriting transactions.
  • New business & renewal policy account reconciliation tasks.
  • Preparation of policy information.
  • Provision of support, where requested, by other team members and business units.
  • Ensuring sound underwriting practices are maintained and all practices and procedures are adhered to.

This position would suit somebody who has a solid and comprehensive knowledge of Strata Titled property with hands-on experience as an Underwriter in this space.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Strategic planning and execution of business development initiatives.
  2. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  3. Providing expert advice on underwriting matters.
  4. Analyzing market trends and identifying opportunities.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive product knowledge in the strata space.
  • Ability to interpret plans of subdivision and strata plans.
  • Negotiation and Influencing skills.
  • Results Orientated with a sales and growth mindset.
