Reporting to the National Business Development Manager, this role is accountable for assisting in the evaluation and underwriting of strata risk, management of underwriting platforms and general underwriting queries within delegated underwriting authorities. The position is also responsible for developing new business.

The role will have close liaison with both the SUU Claims and Underwriting teams to ensure service standards remain relevant and in line with customer expectations, as well as creation and maintenance of a reporting framework to provide meaningful data for managing and developing business across the SUU business; this includes reporting on intermediary results, reporting key issues and projects progress tracking.

Develop and maintain regular reporting for SUU management on market trends in both Residential and Commercial strata, policy comparisons, market changes and feedback to enable SUU to be proactive in responding to opportunities.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with our partners understanding their values, needs, strategies.
  • Accurate and timely processing of underwriting transactions.
  • New business & renewal policy account reconciliation tasks.
  • Preparation of policy information.
  • Provision of support, where requested, by other team members and business units.
  • Ensure sound underwriting practices are maintained and all practices and procedures in the Underwriting Manual are adhered to.
  • Ensure the business is compliant with all applicable legislation.

This position would suit somebody who has a solid and comprehensive knowledge of Strata Titled property with hands-on experience as an Underwriter in this space. We want to identify somebody who has a strategic mindset, with strong customer focus to drive results through strong collaboration and business knowledge

Additionally, we are looking for someone who has the following experience and background in order to be successful in the role:

  • Comprehensive product knowledge in the strata space.
  • Ability to interpret plans of subdivision and strata plans.
  • Negotiation and Influencing skills.
  • Results Orientated with a sales and growth mindset.
