Role Overview

The Seascapes Project Support Officer coordinates and assists in advancing significant coastal habitat restoration projects in Victoria, and may support similar initiatives in New South Wales and Tasmania. This role involves coordinating project planning, undertaking financial management, leading and supporting the implementation of restoration projects, and overseeing project reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project planning, including compiling strategic plans and interfacing with relevant systems
  • Undertake financial management, including forecasting and tracking
  • Lead and support the implementation of restoration projects, including convening governance arrangements, securing necessary permits, contractor procurement, contracting, and overseeing the delivery of restoration works
  • Oversight of the Shuck Don't Chuck shell recycling program
  • Project reporting, including to stakeholders and regulators
  • Leading and supporting community and stakeholder engagement, including with Indigenous groups, through information sessions and engagement with industry, other non-government organizations, research institutions, and the wider community
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, including field work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or vocational degree in natural resource management, coastal restoration, aquaculture, or a related field, and at least 1 year of related experience
  • Experience coordinating multi-faceted projects to completion
  • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience synthesizing diverse information and writing project plans and reports to a high standard
