Regional Sustainability Specialist

This role involves managing programs to achieve natural resource management outcomes in a specific region. The focus includes environment and heritage conservation, land planning, monitoring, education, and on-ground projects.

  • Develop and implement programs that support regional sustainability initiatives.">
  • Build partnerships with stakeholders to develop and deliver projects.">
  • Identify funding opportunities and prepare applications for project support.">
  • Provide advice on emerging issues related to natural resource management.">
  • Contribute positively to the organization's management and administration.">

Selection Criteria

">
  • Qualifications or experience in environmental science, agriculture, or a related field.">
  • Knowledge of natural resource management principles, especially weed and pest management.">
  • Experience in extension services, capacity building, and project management.">
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines.">
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts.">
  • Initiative, ability to work independently and in teams, and focus on quality outcomes.">
  • Ability to develop projects, seek funding, and collaborate with partners.">
  • Understanding of GIS mapping, MERI systems, and remote natural resource management is desirable.">

The role requires initiative, independence, and a broad knowledge of natural resource management principles. Travel is required, including remote areas.
