Senior First Nations Cultural Producer

About the Role

The Australian Museum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior First Nations Cultural Producer to join our Programming team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive and sustainable First Nations public program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a suite of programs interpreting the Australian Museum's onsite exhibitions and First Nations cultural collections.
  • Work closely with our First Nations Division to produce high-quality programs that meet the needs of our audiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new areas of the program, including festivals, workshops, cultural revitalisation, and community engagement.
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of existing Museum offerings, including Ngalu Warrawi Marri, gallery tours, NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week activities.

Requirements

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Event Management, History, Culture, Art, or Science.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a broad range of people.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with Elders, community, stakeholders, and industry.
