Job Details

We are seeking a creative, organised and community-focused professional to join our Events & Festivals team. In this dynamic role, you will guide the assessment and consultation process relating to event permits applications and community gatherings.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering high-quality events that celebrate diversity and inclusion.


The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in planning, coordinating, marketing and promoting events/festivals and corporate functions.


You will be responsible for providing administration and support for event permit application assessment and consultation process and activities. You will also contribute to and support the diverse range of events to meet community and organisational requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Providing administration and support for event permit application assessment and consultation process and activities.
  • Contributing and supporting with the administration and support of Council-led festivals, activations, internal and external applications for community events.
  • Collaborating with other team members in event planning, programming, supplier and performer engagement, event delivery, logistics and post-event evaluation.
  • Enhancing and promoting the positive brand and reputation of Hume City Council as a successful host for community events and festivals.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications in events management, marketing or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in appropriate computer applications.
  • Flexibility, forward thinking and ability to develop innovative programs and projects.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and expectations, decide the appropriate action and respond accordingly.
