Job Opportunity:

Hume City Council seeks a creative, organised and community-focused Events Officer to join the Events & Festivals team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer event permit application assessments and consultations processes and activities.
  • Provide strategic advice and support across the organisation to ensure that Council-run events and activities are relevant and targeted.
  • Contribute to and support the administration of Council-led festivals, activations, internal and external applications for community events in a streamlined manner.
  • Collaborate with Senior Events and Festival Officers and team members on event planning, programming, supplier engagement, event delivery, logistics and post-event evaluation.
  • Enhance the positive brand and reputation of the council as a successful host for community events and festivals.
  • Support the diverse range of events to meet community and organisational requirements.
  • Provide administrative support for Council-led events and approved external community-led events and activities.
  • Establish databases and mailing lists of relevant organisations and contacts.
  • Manage departmental purchases, create purchase orders and process invoices for payment.
  • Undertake day-to-day financial administration, including program budgets ensuring completed tasks align with allocated resources.
