Job Title: Project Coordinator

The role of a project coordinator is multifaceted and dynamic, encompassing various aspects of project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of project activities.
  • Managing subcontractors and suppliers, including contract administration and performance monitoring.
  • Overseeing quality control and ensuring compliance with project specifications, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assisting with cost control and financial reporting.
  • Coordinating and reviewing project documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues and site problems.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Preparing progress reports and project updates.
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, as well as proven experience as a project coordinator on building projects. You will also need sound understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and OHS regulations, excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, strong organisational skills, proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite, a proactive and problem-solving attitude, ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a project coordinator on building projects.
  • Sound understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and OHS regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
