We're seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our Risk and Compliance team.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in driving our strategic objectives by supporting effective compliance management through the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Compliance Management Policy (CMP).

The role involves delivering several key tasks:

  • Assisting with the implementation of our CMP across the organization and developing relevant policies, procedures, and tools to facilitate effective compliance and obligation management.
  • Reviewing operational business processes to identify potential compliance risks or inefficiencies in controls and suggesting suitable process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining and reporting on compliance risks, including actions taken where material control deficiencies or breakdowns have been identified.
  • Effectively assessing, classifying, and managing reported incidents and breaches.
  • Regularly monitoring and reporting on amendments to regulatory and compliance obligations and any emerging issues and trends.
Your Key Responsibilities

This role requires the following skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of compliance management standards, frameworks, tools, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, and industry codes.
  • Familiarity with the Australian Standard for Compliance Management Systems (AS ISO 37301:2021).
  • Knowledge of private health insurance compliance and regulatory requirements or experience in highly regulated industries.
