We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Specialist to develop detailed 3D models, drawings and specifications for mechanical and structural construction.

About the Role
  • Develop detailed 3D models, drawings and specifications for mechanical and structural construction using Autodesk Inventor (Standard and Sheet Metal).
  • Familiar with AutoCAD 2D to prepare high-quality/accurate drawings.
  • Familiar with Navisworks to collate modelling data.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to design, lay out, or detail to resolve design or other problems.
  • Analyse specifications, drawings and related data to assess designs and procedures.
  • Create instructions and additional comments for installation and construction of designs.
  • Make modifications and revise designs to correct any deficiencies in accordance with established processes and review criteria.
  • Assist in estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of Design for Manufacture principles.
  • Show working knowledge of Australian Standards particularly AS1100.
Key Requirements
  • Formal qualification in Mechanical Design/Drafting or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience with Autodesk Inventor (in excess of 3 years will be regarded favourably).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Vault including setup and ongoing drawing management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to provide extremely high levels of detail and accuracy.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience in materials handling equipment fabrication, drafting or design.
  • Prior experience in the agricultural industry advantageous. Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies beneficial.
