Job Title: Senior Project Officer for Heart Health

This is a key role within the organization, focusing on improving heart health outcomes for First Nations communities in South Australia.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding First Nations health and will be able to develop and deliver culturally appropriate resources, education, and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee the delivery of the First Nations Heart Health project in South Australia.
  • Culturally Sensitive Resource Development: Develop and deliver culturally appropriate resources, education, and training programs that promote heart health among First Nations people.
  • Community Engagement: Foster strong connections and partnerships with external stakeholders to support better health outcomes for First Nations communities.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver key reports both internally and to the funding body.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively across internal functions and with external stakeholders to integrate and translate the latest research, evidence, and insights into programs and activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in a health-related field or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience in community development or health-related fields, lived experience would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated program and project planning and management skills.
  • Understanding of issues, enablers, and barriers relating to First Nations health and experience working to address equity and promote self-determination for First Nations communities.
  • Demonstrated cultural understanding and sensitivity with experience of working directly with First Nations communities.
  • Ability to travel to communities across South Australia, with potential interstate travel.
