
Documentation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Technical Documentation Specialist to join our high-performing team. This is a critical role that will provide writing expertise and services for the preparation and production of documentation and technical manuals in accordance with internal customer requirements.
This role will work closely with relevant maintenance, production, and engineering teams to develop, review, correct, and update detailed technical documentation. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and organizing technical information to produce high-quality technical documentation
- Delivering documents that are accurate in description and clear in explanation and concise in content
- Supporting all technical activities such as design, testing, compliance, and accreditation
- Developing product operation and maintenance manuals
- Assisting with the management and organization of data created by the technical team
- Ensuring technical documents are of a consistent standard and delivered in accordance with agreed milestones and timeframe
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Engineering
- Naval/commercial ship experience is desired
- Formal qualifications or exposure to ILS/LSA is desired but not mandatory
- Strong technical writing skills and experience in developing Defence technical documentation
- Application of technical specifications and standards
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure content consistency
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office, Visio including complex template development
- Knowledge of IETM Frame Maker and/or other tools
- Honouring strict schedule and delivery deadlines
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
