Strategic Legal Policy Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Legal Policy Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Private Sector Industrial Relations team, you will play a critical role in implementing the Victorian Government's industrial relations agenda.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal policy advice on complex and sensitive issues, including labor law and regulations. You will work closely with stakeholders to develop and review legislation and related reforms to support the implementation of the Government's response to the Inquiry into the Victorian On-Demand Workforce.

Your primary focus will be on leading and providing strategic advice on broader industrial relations policy issues and legislative reforms to support Victoria's participation in the national industrial relations system and state/federal relations.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of government legal policy, legislative and regulatory frameworks, requirements and processes.
  • Highly developed conceptional analytical and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence others to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.
