About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Safety Advisor to join our team at Jellinbah Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and sustainable operations of our mines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an effective Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) that addresses project risks, meets legislative requirements, and ensures a safe work environment.
  • Ensure training is provided to all employees on safety practices and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety and health risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support for health and safety activities, issues, and risks.
  • Interpret and advise on relevant workplace health and safety legislation requirements.
  • Facilitate workplace risk assessments and support emergency response/crisis management as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate health and safety into project design, construction, and operations.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Work Health & Safety (WHS) or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years of experience in health and safety within the resources industry or similar industry.
  • A thorough understanding of safety and health legislation, including coal mining legislation.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety and health management systems, including critical risk management and assurance programs.
  • Knowledge of integrated management systems – WHS, Environment, and Quality.
  • Incident Causal Analysis Methodology (ICAM) competency or equivalent.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
