We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team at Renewable Energy Systems. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and environmentally responsible delivery of our renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain regular contact with clients, project managers, and contractors to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Facilitate the setup and maintenance of project systems, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.
- Monitor and report on contractors' project systems for legal compliance.
- Develop and implement safety and emergency response plans, ensuring they are understood and utilized by all project staff and subcontractors.
- Conduct site safety inspections and facilitate incident reporting, investigations, and safety alerts.
- Develop and deliver daily toolbox talks, weekly project meetings, and HSE committee meetings.
- Prepare site safety and environmental reports for RES and clients, and compile project statistics for monthly reports.
- Specialist and technical knowledge of HSQE for the project team.
- Understanding of project construction processes for renewable energy projects in Australia.
- Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 and WHS legislation and regulation in Australia.
- Effective communication and guidance skills for line managers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ability to summarize WHS and environmental risks with commercial context to support project delivery decisions.
- Competent in MS Office applications.
- Renewable energy project experience (preferred).
- Approximately 4 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment officer/advisor role.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a construction environment.
- Certificate 4 in Workplace Health and Safety.
- Qualification in Environmental Management.
- Lead Auditor Training in OHS Management Systems (preferred).
- Lead Auditor in Environmental Management Systems (preferred).
