Job Overview:

The Hills Shire Council is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Casual Rating Officer in its Rates department.

About the Position:

This key role involves ensuring accurate reconciliation of the rating system with external stakeholders, processing rates-related activities, and providing exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile rating data with external authorities, ensuring seamless communication and efficient operations
  • Process and issue critical certificates accurately and on time
  • Manage rates-related tasks, including notice issuance, waste management, and direct debit requests
  • Pursue pensioner rebates, levy cancellations, and supplementary rate changes efficiently
  • Process payment files and receipts, recovering debts promptly
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting, or equivalent
  • Ongoing CPA/CA studies for continuous professional development
  • Driver's Licence (Class C) valid in NSW
  • Over 5 years of experience in similar roles within payroll or rates departments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and processing
