Senior Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Research Fellow to join our team at Swinburne University of Technology and contribute to our emerging program of Space Materials, Coatings and Manufacturing. As a key member of our research team, you will develop and undertake applied research programs, including additive manufacturing, advanced lightweight materials, and surface coatings for space and other applied fields.
Working closely with industry partners, you will be responsible for developing and implementing research projects, collaborating with colleagues, and publishing high-quality research papers. You will also participate in activities that foster and build further on existing links with government, business, communities, and professions in Australia and internationally.
About YouTo be suitable for this role, you will need to have experience in material science, additive manufacturing, materials testing, and a strong understanding of relevant testing standards. You should also have a demonstrated ability to conduct major experiments and research programs independently, as well as a track record of publishing quality academic journals.
Additionally, you will need to have a doctoral qualification in physics, materials engineering, or a related discipline, and membership of an appropriate professional body is preferred. Industry or consulting experience, including established links with relevant industries and organizations, is also highly valued.
