Research Fellow Position

The Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science (CFBS) at Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our innovative team. As a Research Fellow, you will play a key role in undertaking research and assisting the research team with the coordination and management of a project examining pathways into young people's use of family violence.
The project takes a mixed-methods approach, featuring a quantitative study using existing linked administrative data from Child Protection, Victoria Police, and other services. You will support the team of Chief Investigators with overall project administration, set up, and delivery, as well as conduct interviews and assist with analyses related to the qualitative study.
About YouTo be suitable for this role, you will need to have experience in conducting qualitative and/or mixed methods research/evaluation, independently and/or under supervision. You should also have experience recruiting participants for research and skills/experience conducting interviews, as well as experience analysing qualitative data using NVivo software.
You will need to demonstrate capacity to work with sensitive topics, and with diverse cultural groups, and an awareness of security and ethical issues associated with working with sensitive data. Additionally, you should have the capacity to complete writing tasks to a high standard, including reports intended for a peer-reviewed academic audience.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree honours and/or a research masters degree in psychology, social work, or related fields. A professional masters or PhD/doctoral qualification, or working towards a professional masters or PhD/doctoral qualification, in psychology, social work, or related fields, is preferred.
