Astrophysics Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as an Oz Grav Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in astrophysics, focusing on compact objects and transient sources.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in astrophysics, with a focus on compact objects and transient sources
- Use radio interferometric observations to undertake research and contribute to the scheduling, observation, data reduction, and analysis of radio interferometry data
- Collaborate with experts from partner institutes to pursue independent research aligned with understanding the astrophysics of compact objects and their use as tools to probe fundamental physics
- Communicate scientific results effectively both verbally and via written communication
- PhD or equivalent in astrophysics or a closely related field
- Experience with radio interferometers, including proficiency with radio astronomy data reduction software such as CASA, AIPS, difmap, or Parsel Tongue
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and modern scientific computing
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with experts from partner institutes
