BESIX Watpac, a leading construction company in NSW, is seeking an experienced Services Operations Manager to oversee the design, coordination, installation, and commissioning of building services on large-scale projects.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and industry experience, with expertise in managing complex building services packages. They will be responsible for driving company safety policies, working closely with project managers to ensure compliance with specifications, cost budgets, and programs.

About the Role
  • Proactively promote and implement company safety policies, procedures, and practices to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Manage the design of Building Services documentation packages, including Mechanical, Electrical, Security, ICT, and Hydraulic systems.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to guarantee that developing documentation meets required specifications, cost budgets, and program requirements.
  • Oversee the review and coordination of all documentation for adequacy of design input.
  • Participate in subcontractor selection processes.
  • Maintain progress and quality control of services installation and commissioning, participating in final handovers of projects.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic services) along with solid industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale projects, managing complex building services packages (mechanical, electrical, communication/ICT/BMS, and hydraulic).
  • Experience in managing integrated systems.
  • Familiarity with essential and advanced building services installation, maintenance, and testing, including Mechanical, Electrical, Security & ICT, as well as Hydraulic systems.
  • Sound understanding and application of relevant legislation, such as OHS Act, Building Code of Australia, and applicable Australian Standards.
  • Leadership skills, demonstrated through effective relationships development with internal and external stakeholders.
