Job Title:

A Heavy Equipment Operator Position

About the Role:

This position involves operating a range of heavy machinery, including draglines, dozers, cable management systems and excavators. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating these machines, performing routine maintenance tasks and ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a Marion 8050 Dragline and other heavy equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy equipment
  • Ensure compliance with established safety procedures
  • Operate dozers and grader equipment around the dragline site
  • Manage cables and conduct cable tractor operations
  • Operate an excavator for dragline and dozer processes
Requirements:
  1. Current experience in dragline operation with significant open-cut mining experience
  2. Excellent dozer operating skills for operating around a dragline
  3. Excavator skills are highly regarded but not essential
  4. Willingness to train on excavators
  5. HR licence or site Heavy Rigid authorisation for Cable and Water truck Operations
  6. Cable tractor skills for High Voltage Cable handling
  7. A genuine commitment to safety and use of Personal Hazard Identification Tools
  8. Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results through influence
