As a Heavy Equipment Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a diverse range of fixed and mobile plant equipment including conveyors, pumps, crushers, draglines, and CHPP infrastructure.
- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance according to established procedures and schedules.
- Conduct thorough fault analysis, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ensure accurate records of maintenance activities are maintained using CMMS systems.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Adhere to strict safety and environmental standards at all times.
- Hold a trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Cert III or equivalent).
- Have experience working in a coal mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Be proficient in fault-finding and troubleshooting large fixed plant and mobile equipment.
- Possess knowledge of maintenance procedures for conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and bearings.
- Hold current coal board medical certification and Standard 11 (or be willing to obtain).
- Display a strong focus on safety and proactive approach to risk management.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
