We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel, Risk to join our dynamic national team at Montgomery Advisory. This is a contract role with an initial period of 4 months, with the possibility of extension.

The Opportunity

This role will work across the compliance and legal functions, building out and managing various risk programs focused on bribery, anti-corruption, and competition, anti-trust law. You will work closely with the national team across Australia, reporting to the Head of Compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing strategic insights and adding value to implement effective compliance strategies.
  • Identify risks, document processes, and manage legal and operational issues that arise.
  • Engage with the wider business, offering critical and analytical thought, and providing strategic insights grounded in a deep understanding of compliance and legal landscapes.
Requirements
  • An Australian qualified lawyer with at least 8 years' experience in the risk and compliance sector.
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, with collaborative and influencing skills.
  • An ability to work in a team environment, with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail, and advanced organisational and time-management skills.
