Job Overview

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for overseeing the management and execution of land development projects, from conception to completion. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

  • Project Planning and Design:
  • Lead the design and planning of civil engineering projects, including but not limited to roads, utility supply systems, stormwater management, and site development.
  • Prepare and oversee detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Manage and coordinate a team of engineers, CAD technicians, and other design professionals.
  • Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Provide detailed timelines and identify necessary permits required.
  • Clearly identify major milestones and project critical path items related to civil engineering.
  • Manage and mentor engineering staff.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Prepare and submit necessary permits and documentation to relevant authorities.
  • Technical Oversight:
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and calculations.
  • Ensure the use of best practices and innovative techniques in project execution.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure high standards of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction progress and quality.
  • Address civil engineering-related issues that arise during construction.
  • Client And Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges effectively to all parties involved.
  • Address client concerns and modify project plans as necessary.
  • Provide accurate and prompt responses to team and clients.
