Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Field Service Engineer. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.

About the Role:

  1. The successful candidate will provide technical support and advice to field sites, preparing and maintaining work packages, technical procedures, control sheets, methods, and documentation for installation teams at the job site.
  2. They will anticipate risks and opportunities, raising them to the Project Team, and maintain the Field Service schedule and coordinate dates with the Project Team and customer.
  3. Responsibilities will include preparing specifications, technical procedures, and work descriptions for installation subcontractors and evaluating installation bids/offers.
  4. Facilitating clarifications with customers and participating in design review meetings to ensure field-related design considerations are met.
  5. The engineer will ensure availability of HSE, quality plans, and documents, develop and ensure availability of project-specific procedures and safety assessments, and determine site layouts, tooling/fixtures, and site infrastructure requirements.
  6. Monitoring target achievement regarding quality, schedule, and costs, supporting corrective actions, facilitating identification and allocation of required internal and external resources, and coordinating teamwork between site and back-office.

Requirements:

  1. A university diploma in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  2. Experience and technical understanding of turbines, generators, and balance of plant equipment, as well as project management, sub-supplier handling, and scheduling experience.
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills, fully computer literate with MS Office, SAP, and Primavera P6 knowledge.
  5. Competencies in AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or equivalent are desirable.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are beneficial due to the international team setup.
  7. Team player with leadership and project management skills.
  8. Willingness to stay in Australia for the project duration (approximately 4-5 years).
